"Abiola" tells the story of Barbadian 15 year old Abiola Adams, who is transferred from a private school to a public school after her step-father is laid off.

In this episode, after drawing an unflattering picture of the guidance counsellor, Abiola is sent to detention where she is forced to spend an entire Friday afternoon with other detainees.

The three films being shown this night are all Barbadian and this “Bajan film night” is being held on the weekend commemorating Barbados’s 41st anniversary of its annual Crop-Over Festival and Kadooment Carnival.
